Our Engagement Story

   Summer of 2014 Kurt and I decided to get married! I was so excited we have dated a whole year and then some so I was thinking it was about time! I was working in the salon at that time and one of the stylist got married in January and said it was so beautiful! I never wanted a winter wedding but I changed my mind on it because I thought it would be pretty! We picked January 10th 2015 it was going to be a Saturday and I thought it would be perfect! Then the date changed I then wanted to do t January 31st 2015... but then again the date changed to January 9th 2015 because of our honeymoon. But I found out that was the day my grandparents got sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and that was the temple we were going to be sealed in. 

     My grandparents passed away while Kurt and I first started to date so Kurt never met them but they were so cool my grandpa was a convert to the LDS church and grew up in West Virginia and fought in WW2. My grandma was a beautiful lady who grew up in Layton Utah and grew up in the church they met and fell in love. My grandpa LOVED golf so I always tell Kurt he would of loved my grandpa. So my family says that my grandparents wanted Kurt and I married because we didn't realize we would be getting married in the same temple and same date.

  Okay so on October 10th 2014 Kurt picked me up from my parents and we told me his friends were having a bonfire at Farmington pond. I said yeah lets go so we got to the pond and it was super dark and then I see all these candles I couldn't help but think why do guys have candles at there bonfire? But I kept walking and then I saw pumpkins saying Will You Marry Me? First thing I said was WHAT THE HECK! I was so shocked and couldn't stop laughing because I was so nervous because you only dream of this! Then Kurt took my hand and said "Raigan I don't know what to say and im so nervous but will you marry me?"  I said yes of course!

After I said yes all of Kurt's family and friends came out of the bushes to congratulate us! I just remember Kurt's mom saying let me see your ring and she shines a light on it and I was like oh yeah what does it look like? Because I wanted Kurt to pick it out because I think that makes is special. He picked out a perfect ring. When we showed my parents he told my mom look it looks like a daisy and that is my favorite flower so every time I look at my ring I think of cute Kurt picking it out and thinking it looks like a daisy.  

After that we drove to my parents to show them the ring they were so happy for Kurt and I. Then we went to Salt lake for cheesecake it was a night to remember for sure. I couldnt sleep that night because I was so excited to spend eternity with my best friend.

The story of Kurt & Raigan

    I love the story's of how people meet there spouse. So here we go.. Kurt and I had a mutual friend I worked with her at Subway (yup I worked at Subway 4 years but it got me through high school and beauty school) I just broke up with my ex boyfriend who Kurt new and was friends on Facebook while I was dating my ex Kurt would see pictures of me and him and he thought I was cute. Well after we broke up I went to a movie party with Taelor when I was there I guess Kurt was there and he saw that I wasn't with my ex so after the party he asked Taelor if I was single and she said I was. He asked her for my number and she told him he had to get it another way. That night Taelor texted me telling me a guy named Kurt Owen wanted to take me on a date. So I looked him up on Facebook haha I said yeah I would if he asked me. Well I was at beauty school and I get a Facebook message from Kurt. We talked forever and for days. 

Our first date was June 1st 2013. He picked me up and the first thing he said was "whats up I'm Kurt." That was the first time I ever met Kurt. We went up to the U and played Frisbee golf and went and got pizza at The Pie. Then after we got snow cones in Bountiful and if you know Kurt he is friends with everyone! While we were out people were like TKO and I was like what does that mean? Kurt started to laugh and said "The Kurt Owen" I was like wow... haha. 

After the date I went home and my mom asked me about the date I said it was fun but we are two different people and I don't think anything will come from it.. Boy was I wrong haha Kurt and I kept talking and went on dates but never became a couple. I would go on other dates with other guys but there was something about Kurt I loved.. I would always make sure I had a date with Kurt that week before I set up a date with another guy. So finally on July 3rd 2013 we became a couple! I loved being with Kurt he was so much fun and so different from the other guys I have ever dated. He made me feel important and every time I was with him I would have fun. Kurt and I both like to be out doing things one time we got spring fever and we went on a motorcycle ride and it was so cold I had to go home and change into warmer clothes haha

       We did lot of fun dates like Jazz games, hikes, going to the lake and swimming and just going on drives. We went on a hike on the 24th of July with his roommates and we sat and watched all the fireworks in the valley that's when we got our first picture together. It was a fun summer even though I was in school full time and had a job it seemed like we always had time to do things.

On Valentines 2014 Kurt finally told me he loved me! haha it took a while but I was okay with it because when I met Kurt I was only 19 and still in school and wasn't ready to get married so I was okay we just took our time to get to know each other and enjoyed dating. Then finally we started to talk about marriage that summer.
